This is a 7,088 acre forest. You can find xeric hammock & a landscape dominated by karst londforms. You can find depressions, sinks & caves. There is two loops, the north loop & the south loop. The north loop is 4 miles & the trail is wide. The south loop is 2 miles & the trail is tighter & more like a trail. Also has a primitive camp site.
From Lecanto you head south on CR 491, when you pass CR 480 (Stage Coach) it's acouple mile south of that. Just inside Hernando County line. The sign will be on your right hand side. From Brooksville you head north on US 98 & turn right onto CR 491. The sign will be on your left hand side just past Parson Rd.
